According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, more than 1 in 20 Americans over the age of 20 are morbidly obese, increasing their risk of developing other health conditions like heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. MountainView Regional Medical Center’s bariatric weight loss program is designed to help people improve their health and quality of life by using surgical intervention for weight reduction.
1st and only New Mexico bariatric program to receive the Joint Commission Gold Seal Accreditation
MountainView Regional Medical Center is pleased to have our bariatric surgery program accredited by both the Joint Commission, and the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). To obtain these accreditations, our program adheres to a rigorous set of standards, including specially trained staff, specialized equipment, and patient experiences and surgical outcomes that meet MBSAQIP and the Joint Commission's standards. These services are supported by the hospital's surgical team and a registered dietician dedicated to the program.
