Chronic, non-healing wounds, those that haven’t shown signs of improvement in several weeks or are not responding to typical treatments, need extra help to heal. Difficult wounds of this type are often caused by injury, disease or poor blood supply. MountainView Regional Medical Center provides specialized treatment for these types of wounds.
Our Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is an outpatient clinic that specializes in the management of all types of wounds, including:
We address the factors that can block one’s ability to heal such as diabetes, poor circulation, infection, nutritional deficiencies, immobility and pressure injury.
The Center is staffed by specially trained physicians, nurses, technicians, nutritionists and diabetic educators. Our team works with your primary physician and caregivers to develop a treatment plan that speeds healing and decreases the probability of serious complications related to a non-healing wound, while your primary care physician continues to treat the underlying condition and provide for your overall care.
Your primary care physician may refer you to the Center or you may call to schedule your own appointment, however, your insurance may require a referral.
