Graduate Medical Education
Welcome to MountainView Regional Medical Center! If you are exploring educational opportunities, or are considering residency here, we think you will find dynamic educational programs at our multifaceted medical center.
MountainView Regional Medical Center is currently offering four residency programs: internal medicine, osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine (ONMM), orthopedic surgery and transitional year. Faculty and staff are dedicated to the training of highly skilled and compassionate physicians, capable of thriving in the most demanding clinical and academic environments. We have high expectations of our faculty, nurses and ancillary staff, and hold our students and residents to these same high standards. We also recognize the important contribution that each one makes to the success of our programs and to the quality of the health care delivered to our patients.
MountainView Regional Medical Center includes our main hospital and emergency department, as well as a newer free-standing ED. We are also affiliated with two outpatient surgery centers, four urgent cares and MountainView Medical Group, a multi-disciplinary group practice with more than 70 physicians. Residents are supported by a range of clinical services, including nurses, phlebotomists, radiology technicians, case managers, pharmacists, allied health professionals, nutritionists and pastoral care. Residents are exposed to robotic surgery and brain surgery GPS-mapping technology, as well as to interventional cardiology and radiology, a wide range of orthopedic procedures and complex medical cases on the hospitalist services.
Because MountainView Regional Medical Center draws patients from both suburban and deeply rural areas, residents and interns learn to manage a broad range of medical issues, and care for patients of varying ages and demographic/social backgrounds.
Depth and value is added to the GME programs through affiliations with New Mexico State University (NMSU), The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at New Mexico State University and several regional hospitals.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MountainView GME programs will be conducting residency interviews virtually for positions available through the NRMP Match. Please visit the program pages for specific information and submit application materials via ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System).
The State of New Mexico has issued a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all healthcare workers including, MountainView Regional Medical Center resident physicians. Please visit the New Mexico Department of Health website for full details.
