Burrell Graduates Stay in Community to Join MountainView Family Care Associates

LAS CRUCES, NM (Oct. 30, 2025) – MountainView Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Jesus Figueredo, D.O., and Muhammad Farhan, D.O., to its growing team at MountainView Family Care Associates.
Both are board-certified family medicine providers and graduates of the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM). They are proud to stay in and serve the Las Cruces community, where they trained and studied. Physicians who stay local have the benefit of building lasting relationships, understanding local health needs, and providing better continuity of care.
“This community has given me so much over the years,” said Dr. Farhan, who also attended New Mexico State University. “My family lives here, and I have deep personal and professional ties to Las Cruces. After residency, coming back home to serve the people and community that supported me was an easy decision. I see myself building a long-term career here.”
Dr. Figueredo, who has lived in Las Cruces since BCOM opened in 2016, said he looks forward to serving the community his family calls home.
“You get to care for the community that you have lived in for so long that it creates such a strong bond,” Dr. Figueredo said.
Both providers have a history that led them to practice medicine at MountainView.
Dr. Farhan completed his 3rd and 4th year medical school rotations at MountainView, where he was impressed by the collaborative environment, strong patient care culture, and supportive staff.
“Returning to MountainView feels like a natural continuation of my training, and I look forward to contributing as a physician,” Dr. Farhan said. “In the future, I also hope to precept Burrell medical students and provide them with similar learning opportunities.”
Dr. Figueredo was inspired to start his journey at MountainView by a friend and mentor in the medical field. His goal at MountainView Family Care Associates is to provide quality care by listening to his patients holistically, taking more than just their symptoms into account.
“[My philosophy] is to try and treat every patient as if they were your family; everyone deserves a caring doctor,” Dr. Figueredo said.
