Weight Loss Options
MountainView Regional Medical Center offers surgical and medical weight loss options when traditional dieting and exercising have failed. The goal of these weight loss options is the same results: curbing hunger and restricting intake and/or absorption for maximum weight loss.
For some patients seeking help with weight loss, surgery may not be the answer. MountainView Regional Medical Center's bariatric program offers a range of programs and procedures for patients who do not need surgery for weight loss.
The medically managed weight-loss program at MountainView Regional Medical Center consists of four elements necessary for successful weight loss:
- Medical oversight, including blood testing and health screenings to assess the patient's current medical condition.
- Nutritional guidance provided by a registered dietitian to help the patient understand how to reduce weight and improve health.
- Behavior counseling, provided by a registered professional who manages each patient's emotional needs, and helps them through the difficult times.
- An exercise program, in which a fitness trainer helps the patient develop a fitness program and healthy, long-term lifestyle changes.
For patients who are interested in weight loss surgery, we offer procedures that help patients reduce intake and/or absorption for maximum weight loss. Visit the procedures page to learn more about available weight loss surgery options. Find out if you're a candidate for weight loss surgery.
