Breastfeeding Support
Experts recommend that all babies be breastfed, if possible, for at least the first six months of life to get the full benefit of mother’s milk. At MountainView Regional Medical Center, we realize that sometimes breastfeeding can be difficult, for a number of reasons. Because we understand the importance of breastfeeding, we work hard to make sure that moms who want to breastfeed get the support they need to effectively nurse.
An international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) is available for breastfeeding support at MountainView Regional Medical Center. After your baby is born, lactation consultation is available to you in the hospital Mondays through Fridays to help ensure success. Outpatient support is available through the new moms’ support group, a group that is open to the community. Private consultations are also available for moms struggling with breastfeeding.
